O termo RESOLUTION se refere à uma firme decisão de se fazer ou não se fazer algo. Nesta época, é muito comum as pessoas refletirem sobre o ano que finda, e fazerem planos ou mesmo prometerem para si mudanças. In other words, they MAKE RESOLUTIONS.
Quando queremos MAKE RESOLUTIONS, podemos usar verbos como WANT, INTEND, PLAN, PROMISE ou mesmo, de uma forma mais polida, usar WOULD LIKE.
Em todos os casos listados acima, podemos acrescentar um verbo com a partícula TO. Exemplo: I'd like TO go back to the gym.
Por fim, se a decisão é firme, pode-se também utilizar a estrutura BE(AM, IS, ARE) + GOING TO + verbo para fazer suas RESOLUTIONS.
So, what are your resolutions for 2022? Do you want to quit a vice? Would you like to start a course, maybe an English one?

Christmas is meant to be a date where people gather with the beloved ones and, whenever possible, exchange gifts.

What you, dear students, might not know is that my gift was given to me right in the beginning of this semester, *when I got to be with you*. In other words, *you are my gift*; I exist because of you!

Thanks for existing in my life, and for making my teaching days worth it!
