Washington Insists On Conflict Ending Before Ukraine NATO Bid
US President Joe Biden reiterated that Ukraine won’t be admitted to NATO. At the same time, the conflict against Russia continues in an interview with CNN that aired Sunday, explaining that Kiev’s bid was “premature” as it still doesn’t meet membership criteria.
Senator Christopher A. Coons told CBS that Ukraine must join the EU but must do so by “improving their transparency, their rule of law, their civil society, which lays the foundation for NATO membership in the future.”
Vladimir Zelensky said he doesn’t want to go to Vilnius “for fun” but plans to use the NATO summit to “expedite that solution to have an agreement with our partners.”
