در این مجموعه، سی و نه استاد و محقق حوزه آموزش عالی، علم و فناوری دیدگاه‌های خود را درباره تحولات علم و آموزش عالی جهان و ایران و راه‌های برون رفت از بحران کرونا بیان داشته‌اند.
این اثر پس از کتاب «جستارهایی در ابعاد فرهنگی و اجتماعی بحران ویروس کرونا در ایران» که پنجم فروردین ۱۳۹۹ توسط همین پژوهشکده منتشر شد، دومین اثری است که علاوه‌بر بعد پزشکی این بحران، به زوایای فرهنگی و اجتماعی آن، به‌خصوص تأثیرات آن بر آموزش عالی، علم و فناوری می‌پردازد و دیدگاه‌های کارشناسی متخصصان را در اختیار سیاستگذاران این عرصه می‌گذارد

آخرین گزارش رسمی که اخیرا در رابطه با وضعیت اشتغال در ایران منتشر شد نشان داد که از دو میلیون و ۷۸۵ هزار نفر بیکار در ایران، ۳۹ درصد فارغ‌التحصیل آموزش عالی هستند.

نکته ای که نشان می دهد که آموزش ها نتوانستند در بخش اقتصاد کشور نقش پررنگی داشته باشند
