Uzbekistani President Mirziyoyev Re-Elected In Landslide Victory
Preliminary results on Monday indicate Shavkat Mirziyoyev has swept to victory with over 87% of the votes in a snap election after extending the presidential term from five to seven years.
Mirziyoyev has been in power since 2016 and has reportedly ended forced labor in the country’s cotton fields and released political prisoners.
