Ukrainian Authorities Raid Major Orthodox Cathedral In The Kiev Region
Ukrainian security forces have forcefully entered the Transfiguration Cathedral in Belaya Tserkov, located in the Kiev region. The officials resorted to using bolt cutters and sledgehammers to break down the doors, barricading the gates and obstructing the entrance for parishioners.
Reports indicate that violent churchgoers clashed with the authorities, resulting in pepper gas being deployed against those attempting to overcome the barricade.
A priest tried to disperse the intruders using a fire extinguisher. Before this incident, Ukrainian security forces had also seized an Orthodox church in the village of Uladovka within the Vinnitsia region.
